Marriott International has made a significant stride in the South Pacific by introducing its Series by Marriott brand to New Caledonia. This expansion is the result of a long-standing partnership with Société Hôtelière de Nouméa (SHN) which has spanned over three decades. The collaboration brings three exquisite resorts under the Marriott umbrella, each offering a unique blend of local charm and global hospitality standards.
The three resorts, previously known as Le Domaine du Pacifique are strategically located in some of New Caledonia’s most picturesque destinations. These include the vibrant city of Nouméa the serene Isle of Pines and the lush Déva Domain nature reserve. Each resort has been meticulously designed to reflect the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, providing guests with an authentic and immersive experience.
Exploring the Resorts
The first resort, Le Domaine Déva, Series by Marriott is nestled within the Déva Domain nature reserve, adjacent to a UNESCO World Heritage-listed barrier reef. This beachfront resort features 120 guest rooms, including suites and bungalows, all inspired by Melanesian and Kanak architecture. Guests can enjoy direct beach access, an outdoor pool, a whirlpool, a fitness center, and a variety of dining options. The resort also offers access to the nearby Golf de Déva making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and golf enthusiasts alike.
The second resort, Le Domaine Oro, Series by Marriott is situated on the pristine Oro Bay on the Isle of Pines. This intimate resort boasts 48 guest rooms, including 28 bungalow suites, each with private balconies or terraces offering stunning views of the garden, pool, beach, or lagoon. The resort is within walking distance of the iconic Baie d’Oro a breathtaking coral lagoon renowned for its turquoise waters and excellent snorkeling opportunities. Guests can indulge in a variety of water sports, relax at the outdoor infinity pool, or enjoy the resort’s signature restaurant, La Pirogue which serves French-inspired cuisine with local flavors.
The third resort, Le Domaine Nouméa, Series by Marriott is located on the scenic Anse Vata Bay facing the world’s largest lagoon. This lushly landscaped resort offers 207 guest rooms, including 34 suites, all featuring private balconies with garden or lagoon views. The resort includes an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a business center, and seven meeting rooms, including the Laperouse Ballroom which can accommodate up to 400 guests. The resort’s dining options include Le Sextant a signature restaurant for buffet breakfast and weekend brunch, and Le Faré a relaxed beachfront bar and lounge.
