Floyd Norman: Pioneering Animator and Storyteller

Floyd Normana trailblazer in the animation industry, joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1956 as its first Black animator. His work on classics like Sleeping BeautyMary Poppinsand The Jungle Book has inspired generations of artists. Norman’s contributions to the field have been celebrated in the documentary Floyd Norman: An Animated Life.

Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler: Champions of Independent Cinema

Christine Vachon and Pamela Kofflerco-founders of Killer Filmswill receive the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. This award recognizes their exceptional contributions to independent cinema. Their production company, founded in 1995, has been instrumental in bringing bold and distinctive stories to the screen.

Vachon and Koffler’s impressive filmography includes Hedwig and the Angry InchBoys Don’t Cryand Past Liveswhich earned them an Oscar nomination in 2026. Their commitment to innovative storytelling has made them titans in the indie film world.
