Prestige Hair Care Revolution: French Brands Embrace Scalp Science

French luxury brands are making waves in the prestige hair care market with innovative products that treat the scalp like skin

Prestige Hair Care Revolution: French Brands Embrace Scalp Science

The world of luxury hair care is experiencing a French revolution, as iconic brands like ClarinsCaudalie and Carita bring their skin care expertise to the scalp. Inspired by the success of Sisley‘s pioneering Hair Rituel line, these brands are redefining hair care with advanced treatments that focus on scalp health.

The prestige hair care market is booming, with a projected growth of 6.2% in 2026, following a 6.1% increase in 2025. This surge is driven by a holistic approach to beauty that recognizes the scalp as an extension of the skin, requiring the same level of care and attention.

Carita’s Hair Rejuvenic: A Return to Roots

Carita a brand with a rich history dating back to 1956, is making a triumphant return to the hair care category with its Hair Rejuvenic line. Founded by the Carita sisters, who were pioneers in the holistic approach to beauty, the brand’s new offerings are inspired by its iconic Le Rénovateur and Fluide 14 products, as well as its antiaging skin care line Or Rejuvenic.

The Hair Rejuvenic collection features four products designed to detoxify, energize, and restore the scalp and hair. The line includes two shampoos, a mask, and an oil, with prices ranging from 60 euros for a 250-ml shampoo to 90 euros for the 190-ml mask. The launch is accompanied by a new in-salon treatment, Soin Régénerant Haute Brillance which incorporates unique hand gestures for an enhanced experience.

Clarins’ Hair Therapy: The Science of Scalp Health

Clarins has introduced its Hair Therapy line, which is the result of extensive research into the scalp’s connective tissue cells, known as dermal papilla. These cells play a crucial role in hair’s shine, quality, and density. The brand’s team of experts identified the negative impact of aging and environmental factors on these cells and developed a solution using a combination of white iris rhizomes and saffron flower polyphenols, dubbed F_03 Technology.

The hero product of the Hair Therapy line is the serum, which is applied to a dry scalp after massage. The brand has also developed the Hair Observer an in-store device that studies the scalp and hair, measuring 11 parameters to provide a personalized diagnosis. Product prices range from 39 euros for the 200-ml Le Bain fortifying shampoo to 98 euros for the 50-ml Le Serum scalp concentrate.

Caudalie’s VineOxyl: A Breakthrough in Hair Loss Prevention

Caudalie known for its grape-based formulations, has developed a patented molecule called VineOxyl derived from hydroxylated grapeseed oil. This molecule acts on the same vascular and regenerative mechanisms targeted in the brand’s skin care products. The hero product of Caudalie’s hair care line is the Anti-Hair Loss Serum which contains VineOxyl and a complex of soothing and antioxidant organic French plant peptides.

In clinical studies, the serum reduced hair loss by 53% and increased hair thickness by 87%. The brand’s rigorous clinical protocol, which includes a 90-day follow-up, dermatological scoring, and instrumental measurements, underscores its commitment to excellence in hair care. The Density & Volume Shampoo priced at $38, is another standout product in the line.

The rise of hair loss as a product category within the wellness and prevention beauty conversation is notable. Brands are increasingly targeting both men and women with thinning-hair solutions, positioning them as part of routine hair care. This shift reflects a broader trend towards self-care and preventive measures in the beauty industry.
