For over two decades, Lady Victoria Hervey, a British socialite, resided in Los Angeles. However, an invitation to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration drew her to Washington, DC. ‘I had several friends involved with the inaugural committee,’ she recalls during a phone call from London. ‘It was an exhilarating experience.’ Hervey’s enthusiasm for the Trump era is evident as she displays her collection of MAGA hats—at least six—neatly arranged in clear boxes in her stylish Knightsbridge apartment. She recently expressed a desire to acquire a hat emblazoned with the phrase ‘Make England Great Again.’

Hervey now longs for the excitement of Palm Beach’s political gatherings. ‘The atmosphere is electric, especially with Secret Service agents everywhere. Mar-a-Lago truly feels like the heart of the action,’ she shares. ‘It’s as if you’ve stepped into another reality.’

From British It girl to MAGA enthusiast

Lady Victoria Hervey was once a prominent figure in London’s social scene during the 1990s, frequently featured as an It girl in tabloids. However, the spotlight can fade; in 2001, a tabloid labeled her ‘the most ridiculous person in Britain,’ prompting her to relocate to the United States. Although her aspirations in acting did not materialize, she remained in California, mingling with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan at various film premieres and parties. Eventually, she ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her swimwear brand, Ladyship Swim, and is now collaborating with Scott Hensell to design clothing.

Political awakening during the pandemic

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, while still in Los Angeles, Hervey felt as if a veil had been lifted. This period prompted her to cancel her cable subscription, turning instead to independent news sources and Telegram for information. She began sharing her critical views on the Black Lives Matter movement and expressed skepticism about the COVID vaccine to her 568,000 Instagram followers. An invitation to attend several Trump rallies soon followed, ultimately leading her to Palm Beach.

‘In 2021, I found myself at Mar-a-Lago, attending an event hosted by Rudy Giuliani. From that point, I began to meet influential individuals and build a network,’ she explains. ‘Given the turbulent times, I felt compelled to gain a deeper understanding of the political landscape and connect with those wielding power.’

The art of mingling with political elites

Hervey has mastered the art of securing autographed MAGA hats. ‘The most opportune moment is at the golf club. If you’re wearing one of his hats, he’s likely to notice you and offer to sign it,’ she reveals. Her political journey took another turn when she attended Harvey Weinstein’s trial, where she met popular blogger Jessica Reed Kraus. The two became fast friends, sharing interests in controversial figures like Ghislaine Maxwell, and now spend weekends together in Palm Beach.

A glamorous presence in American politics

Hervey seamlessly blends her British elegance with the American political scene. ‘She embodies a unique blend of British glamour,’ Kraus notes. ‘In these environments, she stands out as a captivating figure amidst the political landscape.’

Despite her deepening involvement in Trump’s circle, Hervey’s time in America wasn’t meant to last forever. ‘I left because I was alarmed by the violence on the streets of Beverly Hills,’ she stated, despite the area reporting only one homicide in 2021, with none in the following years. Nevertheless, she maintains her connections to Palm Beach society and continues to navigate political waters with poise.

Reflecting on Trump’s campaign strategy, she admires his knack for connecting with the masses: ‘The way he utilized McDonald’s in his campaign was brilliant. I knew then that he was destined for success.’

Hervey’s aristocratic roots and political realignment

While her aristocratic lineage has its allure, Hervey acknowledges the changing dynamics of the British elite. Once a staunch supporter of the Conservative Party, she has shifted her allegiance to Reform UK, a party founded by Nigel Farage that advocates for anti-immigration policies and national sovereignty. ‘Reform UK is resonating with voters from diverse backgrounds,’ she asserts. ‘What matters is patriotism and love for one’s country.’

Hervey now longs for the excitement of Palm Beach’s political gatherings. ‘The atmosphere is electric, especially with Secret Service agents everywhere. Mar-a-Lago truly feels like the heart of the action,’ she shares. ‘It’s as if you’ve stepped into another reality.’0
