Angaleena Presley moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2000, where she was awarded a nine-month publishing contract. He met Ashley Monroe through her publisher who later brought Presley’s music to the attention of her friend Miranda Lambert.
The three artists began writing songs together, which would later become Pistol’s debut album Annies Hell on Heels, released on August 23, 2011. The group spent two years touring North America and writing songs for their next album.
Pistol Annies released their second album, Annie, Up on May 7, 2013. The RIAA announced that the Hell on Heels album and single had both sold over 500,000 copies on June 17, 2013, giving Pistol Annies their first gold record.
She released her solo album American Middle Class, co-produced with her husband Jordan Powell in 2014. The Wrangled was released in 2017 as Presley’s second solo album.
