‘It came out very quickly because I have often thought about it during my career and have often thought about it. I don’t know I would necessarily have shared that story, so it’s something I’ve decided to get out. I am grateful in many ways because it was a turning point in my career. It forced me to make some decisions that got me on a path about what kind of personality I wanted to be. He taught me a good lesson. I went with my instincts. I didn’t know how it would end. I was afraid to air this interview and didn’t want to be responsible for making things worse. And the truth is, I made that decision and I’m proud of it after all these years later. I think of the tragedy that happened to both [Tupac and Biggie] like, ‘What if I knocked him out?’ I always wondered if you had contributed in any way to what happened, even though it may not be. In the end it happened anyway, but I know I did what I could not to contribute. This gave me strength. This helped me draw my own line in terms of who I am as a personality. ‘
