Bob Brinker (full name: Robert John Brinker) is an American financial advisor and radio host who has hosted the syndicated financial radio show Moneytalk since 1986. Brinker previously had a show on the New York local radio on WMCA. It has also hosted radio shows on WCAU (now WPHT) and WWDB in Philadelphia.

Brinker attended La Salle College High School. He graduated from La Salle University with a BA in economics in 1964. Bob then earned a master’s degree in communications and finance from Temple University. In 1966, Brinker became a news host with the Philadelphia news radio station KYW.

He joined Provident National Bank as a portfolio manager in 1970. In 1973 he became investment manager at New Jersey National Bank. Brinker was an adjunct professor of finance at Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey while working in New Jersey. He was vice president and investment advisor at the Bank of New York from 1974 to 1981.

Brinker was the chief investment officer of the United States at the British Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance based in London from 1981 to 1992. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York.

Bob hosted weekend talk shows on WCAU and WWDB in Philadelphia in the late 1970s. He also became a play-by-play radio voice for La Salle and Villanova college basketball.

New York City radio station WMCA hired Brinker to host an investment talk show in 1981. In 1986, ABC Radio launched the nationally syndicated Moneytalk program. Money talk has been heard on over 200 radio stations nationwide and has also been streamed worldwide on the Internet. The program aired on Sundays from 4 to 7 pm (Eastern time). Talkers.com placed Brinker on its list of the 100 most important radio talk show hosts of all time in 2014.

After more than 32 years of hosting Money Talk, Brinker has decided to ditch the radio. The last live broadcast of Money Talk was on 30 September 2018.

He began publishing the Marketimer newsletter in 1986. The newsletter covers market timing, the Federal Reserve, and mutual funds among other topics.
