He was supposed to appear on the Wife Swap show but he never filmed an episode. She and Ron founded the company in 1998 with nothing more than a single truck.
TruTV’s network executives only had to scout her part of the city in North Carolina in search of television perspectives, and they walked away realizing that Amy was a perfect encapsulation of the type of personality they were looking for. She appeared as a guest on Conan O’Brien’s talk show Conan.

He sent down a cameraman for a day of filming and that was all it took to write a contract. People on the net were just exploring potential customers at the time. The truTV executive in charge of the show named Robyn Hutt was quoted as saying that they really fell in love with Lizard Lick and that Amy and her husband were dynamic and fun characters.
