As the group’s only constant, Benjamin has been its main songwriter, singer and guitarist since its inception in 1999.
Since signing with Hollywood Records in 2002, he has composed six studio albums under the name Breaking Benjamin, three of which have reached platinum and two have achieved gold in the United States. In addition to Breaking Benjamin, he has also collaborated with artists such as Adam Gontier and Red.
Benjamin’s lyrical content is frequently and more recently made up of cryptic and distressed themes that ‘settle between being whiny and aggressive’. It has the range of a tenor and occasionally uses death snarls in its singing.
