22,141 Fans Join Pitbull to Set Guinness World Record for Bald Caps

The BST Hyde Park festival in London witnessed a historic moment on July 10, 2026, as Pitbull and his fans set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps. This unprecedented event was the culmination of a viral idea that captured the imagination of fans worldwide.

The record-breaking attempt was not just a celebration of Pitbull’s iconic style but also a testament to the power of fan dedication. The event drew in 22,141 participants, all donning bald caps, white shirts, black ties, and aviator sunglasses, mirroring Pitbull’s signature look. The rapper himself, known for his bald head, had to wear a bald cap to be counted towards the record.

The Journey to the Record

The idea for the record attempt originated from Jack Remmington a podcast host and cultural commentator. Remmington posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok video suggesting that the 65,000-person capacity of BST Hyde Park was more than enough to break the world record for people cosplaying as Pitbull. The video went viral, catching the attention of Guinness World Records and BBC Radio 1’s Greg James.

Remmington’s viral post sparked a chain of events that led to Pitbull’s involvement. The rapper, known as Mr Worldwide enthusiastically responded with a simple ‘Dale!’—Spanish for ‘go ahead’—and the plan was set in motion. Pitbull announced the record attempt in February, encouraging his fans to join in the fun.

The Big Day

On the day of the festival, the atmosphere was electric. Fans eagerly awaited the opportunity to be part of history. The demand for bald caps was so high that many fans had to scramble to find them at the last minute. Lucy, a 30-year-old fan, shared her experience of visiting multiple fancy dress shops that were sold out.

To ensure the accuracy of the record, 400 volunteers were deployed to check participants individually as they entered the venue. Additionally, drone footage with 42 counters backstage was used to tally the record. Will Munford, an official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, emphasized the importance of this meticulous process.

The Impact and Legacy

The record attempt was more than just a novelty; it was a celebration of community and shared passion. Munford noted that the decision to officiate the attempt was partly due to the sheer number of people involved and the pre-existing grassroots internet community committed to dressing up like Pitbull.

The trend of Pitbull mimicry started in 2026 with just a few fans showing up as playful lookalikes. Thanks to viral videos on social media, it quickly exploded into a massive fan movement. Pitbull has embraced this phenomenon by naming his fans the baldies and selling official Mr Worldwide Kits and bald caps on his website.

As the sun set and Pitbull took the stage, he was visibly moved by the sea of bald caps. He acknowledged the historic moment, saying, ‘It’s a blessing and an honour to see the baldies in London.’ The event not only set a world record but also created a memorable experience for all involved.
