The Fashion world is abuzz with anticipation as the official schedule for the Spring/Summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week has been unveiled. Running from September 28 to October 6, this season promises a blend of fresh talent and established names, setting the stage for a captivating showcase of creativity and innovation.
With 68 runway shows and 33 presentations, the event will feature a total of 101 fashion houses, each bringing their unique vision to the forefront. This season marks a significant moment in the fashion calendar, as it follows the historic debut wave of the previous year.
The Rise of New Designers
The Spring/Summer 2027 season will witness the debut of two new artistic directors. Drew Henry, the newly appointed artistic director of Courrèges will present his first collection on September 30 at 10:30 am. Similarly, Kai Nesselrath, the new design director of Carven will showcase his debut collection on October 1 at 12:30 pm.
Adding to the excitement, Maxhosa Africa the South African label founded by designer Laduma Ngxokolo, will make its first appearance on the official show calendar. Known for its vibrant designs inspired by traditional Xhosa beadwork, the brand has garnered attention from celebrities like Beyoncé and Michelle Obama.
Returning Favorites and Notable Absences
Several well-known brands are making their return to the Paris Fashion Week calendar after a hiatus. Among them are Valentino which previously showcased its fall 2026 collection in Rome, and Maison Margiela which last presented in Shanghai. Other returning brands include SacaiEster ManasChristopher Esber and Casablanca.
However, some notable absences include McQueen which will be showcasing at London Fashion Week under the leadership of Seán McGirr and newly appointed CEO Gianfranco D’Attis. Rabanne will also be missing this season, as new creative director Olivier Rousteing prepares for his debut show in March. Additionally, Nina Ricci and Off-White will not be participating in this season’s events.
Emerging Talent and Industry Highlights
The presentation calendar will feature several newcomers, including Alexandra Golovanoff, a Parisian designer and journalist known for her eponymous cashmere line. Fidan Novruzova, a Central Saint Martins graduate with Azerbaijani roots and a Moldovan upbringing, will also present her collection. Novruzova was a semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2026 and a finalist for the ANDAM Awards in 2026.
Industry giants such as DiorSaint LaurentChanelTom FordDries Van NotenBalenciagaLoeweCelineMiu Miu and Louis Vuitton will also be showcasing their collections. Notably, Alaïa will host a presentation on October 3, designed by the studio as the house awaits the appointment of a new creative director following Pieter Mulier’s departure earlier this year.
