She openly accused Sino-Canadian artist Kris Wu of rape on her and 30 other girls, some of whom were children, on July 8. She stated that if Kris Wu does not deal with the problem by withdrawing and apologizing to the victims, she is prepared to move against him and reveal the evidence against him. Meizhu also provided chat conversations from her that were apparently exchanged with Wu’s staff, in which they expressed their willingness to pay her $ 1.2 million to have the accusations dropped. She also provided proof that she claimed to have gotten funds from Kris Wu. The agreement, however, provided that she would erase everything and deny what had occurred, absolving Wu of any responsibility.
