JOE Petito is the father of Gabby Petito, who went missing while on a cross-country vacation with her fiancé.

Gabby had been missing since late August, however it was reported on September 21, 2021, that she died as a consequence of homicide after being discovered in Wyoming.

Gabby was last seen on August 24, 2021, checking out of a motel in Salt Lake City, Utah with her fiancé Brian Laundrie.

Gabby’s mother, Nichole Schmidt, stated that she heard from her daughter on August 27 and 30, but she is unsure whether it was her because just text messages were sent.

Schmidt then reported her daughter missing on September 11 at about 6.55pm, triggering a nationwide hunt for the missing lady.

Her remains were recovered in Grant Teton National Park, where she had been camping with her fiancé when she went missing.

Gabby’s father, Joseph Petito, had issued many appeals for aid in the aftermath of his daughter’s abduction.

According to the Daily Mail, Joe resides in Vero Beach, Florida, where he relocated to be closer to his daughter.

“We still have no idea where she is. Right now, pride isn’t a problem. My only daughter has gone missing “On September 12, 2021, the father told WPTV. “I’ll do everything I can. Gabby’s mother, the family, we’re going to do all we can to find her.”

Gabby’s disappearance was described by Gabby’s father as “like drowning with your hands tied behind you.” “You can’t put it into words. There isn’t much you can do. You have no control over anything.”

“She’s someplace out there… We will not give up until we find her.”

He sent a heartfelt tribute to his daughter on Instagram when authorities announced the discovery of remains matching Gabby’s.

Joseph captioned a shot of Gabby standing in front of a wall with painted wings, “#gabbypetito she impacted the world.”

Following the autopsy results, the family conducted a memorial ceremony for Gabby on September 26 to lay her to rest.

Joe stated at the ceremony that he wanted people to be “inspired” by the life she exemplified.

“So, when you leave here today, be inspired by what she brought to the table because the whole globe now knows her name,” he added.

“And she has encouraged many women and men to put their own needs first. Put yourself first, and do it now, while you still have the opportunity. As a father, I couldn’t be happier.”

Joe also advised women in toxic relationships to “leave now” in order to avoid a similar catastrophe.

Only a few days later, the family staged a news conference at which Nicole displayed identical tattoos made by Gabby before to her death.

Gabby’s family attorney blasted Brian Laundrie during the press conference, pleading with him to turn himself in and claiming that the Laundrie family “did not assist find Gabby, therefore they will not help find Brian.”

Gabby’s family announced on October 3, 2021, the establishment of the Gabby Petito Foundation in memory of their late daughter.

A link to the foundation’s website is also now online, after being “under development” in the week after Gabby’s family initially announced their desire to create a charity in her honor during her burial.
